About a year ago, several board members approached me to explore the idea about setting up a website for the Special Olympics Burnaby local to serve as a hub for people in the local to communicate with one another. I emphatically agreed with this idea!

The goal of this website is not only to encourage coaches and program volunteers to communicate with one another but also to inform athletes and parents/guardians of program schedule, to showcase the sport events in the photo album section of the website, and to allow visitors and potential volunteers to get a sense of what we do in Special Olympics.

In the future, we plan on adding three more sections to the website: Athletes’ Corner, Coaches’ Corner, and Articles. The intent of the Athletes’ and Coaches’ Corner is to showcase the athletes and coaches in the local and the Article section will allow the coaches to publish articles pertaining to various topics in athletic training.
